Harbinger Consultants will be consulting to Brisbane City Council to develop a curatorial report for a public art commission as part of the Wynnum Suburban Centre Improvement Project (SCIP) renewal. In developing the curatorial report, Harbinger’s John Armstrong will develop a curatorial framework, public art strategy and artwork opportunities and recommendations.

Wynnum is a thriving and attractive bayside suburb. It is currently experiencing a revival with new developments in the suburban centre including civic works, such as a new library, park and community centre, together with mixed use commercial and residential development. The initial SCIP was delivered in 2000 and, through a new Council program, will be “renewed and refreshed”. The program includes bus stop upgrade, new street furniture, restoration of existing public artworks, garden bed and tree planting, and other works.
