ART | Public art installation at North Lakes Bus Station

Today saw the beginning of the installation of a public artwork at North Lakes Bus Station for Translink. Harbinger Consultants has overseen the curatorial development, planning and project management of the initiative which will result in works by Leah King-Smith integrated into this essential infrastructure for the growing planned community. The project was devised after numerous site investigations and consultations with public transport users, bus drivers and the local community.

These photographs of the installation show the beginning of the process – the stainless steel spheres will be handpainted by Leah King-Smith making each a unique artwork that reflects and captures the spirit of the landscape and its history. The work is comprised of four spheres: 1 x 2m, 1 x 1m and 1 x 75 cms, and 1 x 50 cms.
