EXHIBITION | Art from the Margins

Art from the Margins is a creative initiative of Wesley Mission Brisbane. Art from the Margins provides an opportunity for artists who are homeless or experiencing disability or disadvantage to exhibit and promote their artwork to the wider community in order to enable further development of their artistic pursuits. The exhibition will showcase the work of 185 artists from the northern tip of Queensland, Brisbane, Regional Queensland, and Tasmania. Awards will be presented to exhibitors and Harbinger’s John Armstrong, who has had a long involvement with arts and disability and outsider art, is one of the judges.

We’re delighted to be supporting Art from the Margins, which will run from 11 to 25 September as part of the Brisbane Festival. Most exhibited works will be offered for sale. The price of individual pieces is set by the artist. Artists receive the full sale price of their work: no commission is charged by the organisers.

The exhibition will be presented at Inala Civic Centre, Brisbane Institute of Art and Albert Street Uniting Church. More information about venues and dates is online at the Wesley Mission website.
