LOCAL | Fitzgibbon Urban Development Area

The State Government Community Forum for Greater Brisbane, of which Linda is a community member, has taken an active interest in the Fitzgibbon Urban Development Area with a view to enhancing community and social infrastructure in Brisbane’s outer northern suburbs. The Forum is hopeful that this project will seed new thinking about suburban development. Linda was appointed to the Community Reference Group as a nearby resident but, due to personal constraints, was unable to continue with this appointment.

The Proposed Development Scheme is about to go to public notification. Due to the rarity of greenfield sites in close proximity to transport networks in Brisbane, the Fitzgibbon UDA is uniquely positioned for transformation into a modern residential suburb developed on transit oriented principles, that includes bushland and significant open space. The Proposed Development Scheme includes the following elements:

  • Land use Plan
  • Infrastructure Plan
  • Implementation Strategy

The public notification period commences on 2 February and closes on 17 March. It can be viewed online at http://www.ulda.qld.gov.au or in person:

  • 9.30am to 4.30pm, Tuesdays and Thursdays at Shop 21, Taigum Centro, Beams Road, Taigum
  • 9.30am to 4.30pm at Level 4, 229 Elizabeth Street, Brisbane

During the public notification period members of the community are able to make submissions for consideration by the ULDA.
